Inside Enliven’s Levin Poppy Fields Village.

-

Former Upper Hutt residents Ray and Margarite have been living at Levin Poppy Fields Village since July 2023 and have described their villa as spacious, safe, and warm.

They lived in a 2000 square feet home before embarking on their new venture into an independent retirement home at Levin Poppy Fields Village (LPFV).

Size played a crucial role in Ray and Margarite’s decision-making process, and after an extensive search throughout the Wellington region, they found that LPFV perfectly met their space requirements while also minimizing maintenance. “The big difference, compared to elsewhere, was the size. Space was a big factor for us, and this one here has got it,” says Ray. “We had a huge hedge as well, which we had to trim and cut so it’s good not having to do any of that here.” Plus, the couple loved being able to take their cat who seems to have accepted the Village as its new home too.

Since Margarite was experiencing mobility challenges, ensuring safety was a crucial consideration for her and Ray. “Margarite has a problem with balance now, and we needed somewhere where she felt safe. The way that the bathrooms and toilet are – it’s really nice, and both places we’ve seen only had 1 toilet.” Says Ray.

As the double-glazed windows provide that extra warmth in the conservatory, Margarite also admits she enjoys reading on her chair with the sun flowing in. “I just like going in there because the sun streams in and it’s lovely. It gets very warm,” she says.

Levin Poppy Fields Village is also next to Levin Home which provides ongoing services offering a full range of aged residential support including dementia, respite, and convalescence. There is also guest accommodation available at Levin Poppy Fields Village and Levin Home for families wanting to visit.
