Mindful work: How meditation is changing business from the inside out
Profile Books, $25.90
I jumped on a beaten horse with this book.
Mindfulness has ridden a fair few miles in the business/ personal development community over the last couple of years.
And although Gelles (a business reporter for the
New York Times, who studied meditation in India and spent two years travelling around the US picking up stories about mindfulness in corporate America) does his best to make the topic original with forays into historical figures and modernday applications – Google, Facebook and the like – I still can’t be bothered to finish all 279 pages of a book telling me that mindfulness is a good idea.
It is, but let’s not write any more books about it please. (LR)
