Successful dressers
Editor,
The staff and volunteers at Dress for Success Wellington would like to sincerely thank everyone who voted for us at the Dominion Post Wellingtonian of the Year Awards.
We were joint winners of the Readers’ Choice Charity Donation section and we are delighted to share the honour with Kiwi Community Assistance.
Dress for Success is a nationwide organisation which helps thousands of Kiwi women wishing to enter or reenter the workforce by providing professional clothing for job interviews and career development tools to help them thrive at work and in life.
To be a chosen charity is a testament to the passion and dedication of our committed team of staff, volunteers and supporters, and we wish to congratulate the other category winners – all of whom are making positive contributions to peoples lives. questions and discuss the presentation. You will then have until February to make a submission.
At the Pataka meeting some threeplus months ago it was clear that both PCC and Wellington Regional Council were having Sir Geoffrey Palmer conduct a review, notwithstanding that at no stage has the Government formally advised that changes of governance were imminent.
The Palmer review is complete and findings are readily available.
Is it necessary for the mayor to provide a further presentation?
Given Mayor Leggett’s public announcements I doubt that his opinion is unbiased.
On this point of view, his presentation is unwarranted.
The ‘‘future structure’’ and ‘‘be at the table of influence’’ are just irrelevant words.
From a stakeholder’s point of view – ‘‘The structure of the entity is irrelevant’’ – delivery of services in a timely, cost-effective, accountable and affordable manner – is the challenge for local government. This is the main issue.
Who had the authority to decide that stakeholders have until February 2013 to make submissions?
