Big name for launch

Sudbury, a wedding and events venue in Te Horo, launched its conference facilities with a speech by Emmy award-winning veteran CNN correspondent and anchor Gina London this month.

Gina talked about her journey which began at the US Congress to journalist and anchor at CNN to life now as a communications guru working with an impressive list of Fortune 500 clients.

She was on a whistle stop tour of Australia and made just one stop in New Zealand, at Sudbury, to address business leaders from around the district.

Sudbury owner Janine Sudbury was thrilled to welcome Gina to the district.

“Gina and I met while working at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in Congress in Washington DC in 1990.

“We both then developed careers as journalists, mine for the BBC and National Radio, Gina’s on CNN.

“Although we met almost 19 years ago, this is our first reunion since then.

“To launch Sudbury’s conference and meeting facilities with such an inspirational speaker was a great coup for the district.”
