Last concert for Chamber Choir

Kapiti News - - Book Review -

Ka¯ piti Chamber Choir’s final concert takes place in St Paul’s Anglican Church, Ka¯ piti Rd, Paraparaumu, on Saturday from 4pm. Entry is free.

The choir was formed in 1992 by the late professor Peter Godfrey as a group of 25 to 30 experienced singers able to read music and with well-produced voices who would not be daunted by a demanding repertoire.

Godfrey was succeeded by Guy Jansen, Stuart Douglas and the current director Eric Sidoti.

The choir has explored the great works of the classical European and American traditions as well as folk songs and many New Zealand composers.

Now, reluctantly, the choir has decided to disband.
