Business The Kāpiti Coast Chamber of Commerce champions and supports local business – and provides a collective voice. Chairs Report January 2022

- Kia ora koutou,

As we settle into the swing of things for 2022, we are looking forward to reconnecting with our Chamber members and local business community after the festive season.

While we are still facing levels of uncertainty due to the pandemic, we are seeing a real sense of resilience and optimism as businesses adapt to operating under requirements designed to help keep us all safer. Kāpiti’s businesses have been through a very challenging time, and we’re certainly not out of the woods yet, but our district continues to see innovation and business growth thanks to the often tireless efforts of the people who make up our business community.

Here at the Kāpiti Coast Chamber of

Commerce, we have a long history of supporting, connecting, championing and advocating for our local businesses

- in fact, we are always working to be a strong voice for the business community. 2022 looks set to be no different, with a wide range of interesting events, networking opportunities and educational development sessions on offer.

Kāpiti Coast Business Network is held on the first Tuesday of every month, at the Tuatara Brewery in Paraparaumu. This informal event is a great way to mix, mingle and network with other business people, and you don’t even need to be a Chamber member to attend. Another highlight on the calendar is the monthly Business After Five event, hosted by a different Chamber member each time, giving us a chance to take a closer look or feel inspired by a

business’s journey and achievements.

We also run a programme of learning and development sessions, covering a variety of informative topics and delivered by experts in their fields - whether they’re our key partners, members or acclaimed thoughtleaders from across the country. In the past, we have run sessions led by business coaches, digital practitioners, leadership experts and more.

Our website is a great source of information about all of Chamber’s upcoming happenings and events, as well as offering a wealth of relevant resources. Head online to find out more about joining the Kāpiti Coast Chamber of Commerce and the exclusive member benefits on offer, as well as checking out our key partners, who are vital in supporting us to do the work we do.

We look forward to catching up with everyone soon.

Monique Leith and Heather Hutchings, Co-Chairs.
