Spray lawns

If your lawns are in good health, now’s the time to give them a broadleaf spray.

Pick wisely

Harvest fruit and vegetables regularly so they don’t attract pests, especially zucchini and cucumbers, which will quickly grow enormous. They’re also nicer to eat when little.

Deflower basil

Tip-prune your basil plants regularly to remove the flower heads and prolong leaf production. Make sure they get adequate water and fertiliser.

Control mildrew

Deal to powdery mildew on pumpkins, squash, zucchini and cucumbers. You can sort it with fungicidal sprays, or natural methods like a weekly spray of skim milk or dish detergent in water.
