Chip seal change
Climate change has reared its ugly head once again. The unusually hot weather we have had has softened the bitumen used to bind the chipseal on roads around Paraparaumu, Raumati and Waikanae. Now is the time for council to level up to a more suitable roading surface. The residents of Mazengarb Rd and Guildford Drive are happy because those streets were laid in asphalt after similar concern about chipseal three years ago.
Asphalt is expensive. Four times the cost of chipseal. The maintenance factor must also be taken into consideration.
