“We’re sticking to our plan”
As it stands, we are looking at a 7.5 percent average rates increase which is lower than the 8.0 percent projected increase for year two of our LTP. Council will continue to look for opportunities to reduce this further before the final Annual Plan is adopted at the end of June 2022.
While COVID-19 continues to be a thorn in our side, this is a big year for the Kāpiti Coast. With Te Ara Nui o Te Rangihaeata (Transmission Gully) finally open, and a substantial list of projects and initiatives underway, I believe we’ll emerge from the year ahead stronger than ever.
Toitū te whenua, toitū te wai, toitū te tāngata - toitū Kāpiti.
Ngā mihi,
K Gurunathan Mayor, Kāpiti Coast District
