Jazz in the Gardens on
Afree community event Jazz in the Gardens takes place in Raumati Beach’s Marine Gardens on Sunday. The 12 noon to 2pm event, part of New Zealand May Music Month Celebration, features the ever-popular 12-piece local band Brasso which is a Latin-American jazz combo.
Brasso will also feature special guest vocalist Tineke Jennings with a mix of classic jazz numbers and some originals written for the band by leader David Langley.
Purebread Jazz in the Gardens organiser Chris Craddock said the event was thankful to Ka¯piti Coast District Council’s creative communities funding.
“This free community event would not occur without their financial support.”
He encouraged people to attend the event.
“What better way to spend an afternoon in the sun enjoying Ka¯piti‘s local musical talent in the perfect surroundings of Marine Gardens listening to a selection of outstanding music performed by the district‘s best musician,.” he said.
The event is on wet or fine. Wet weather venue is the Waterfront, Raumati Beach.
