Electra business awards now open for entries

-

The Electra Business and Innovation Awards for Kāpiti and Horowhenua businesses has opened for entries.

Programme manager Natalie Rutene said the awards “champion business excellence and innovation and strive to acknowledge, celebrate and reward the achievements of local businesses”.

The Kā piti Coast and Horowhenua District councils are further supporting this year’s awards by making them accessible for all local businesses and by removing entry fees.

“This means businesses must simply allocate the time required to complete the entry form with no financial commitment, and with great benefits to be received for all businesses that take part.”

Following feedback on the simplification of the entry form and process last year, Rutene said the awards will be run in the same format, with a Word document entry form, streamlined questions and an easy-to-follow submission process.

“Simply answer the questions about your business and what you’ve achieved, then send it in.”

Rutene said there are many reasons to enter, such as it being free, a streamlined entry process, the entry form questions are structured to allow you to share your story, getting recognition (finalists and winners feature in a significant media and marketing programme), all finalists receive an annual Kāpiti Coast Chamber of Commerce membership, and the opportunity to benchmark yourself against other local businesses and receive feedback from experts.

There are industry categories to fit all businesses, along with special awards and the much-coveted Business of the Year Award.

“As part of this year’s entrant support offering, Heather Hutchings from Unleash Your Business is supporting with an Entry Mentoring Opportunity. This is a free 30-minute coaching session which is available to help you with your Electra Business & Innovation Awards entry.

“Hutchings will meet one-on-one with you to work through any speed bumps, answer your questions, and help clarify your thinking and ideas regarding your entry.”
