Welcome to your 2023 Kāpiti Coast Art Trail

-

Welcome to Te Ara Toi o te Takutai o Kāpiti – Kāpiti Coast Art Trail 2023. This is your Art Trail, designed by you to your artistic tastes and interests. Take some time for yourself, wander through exciting creative spaces and charming coastal gardens. Make new discoveries everywhere – get off the beaten track in the hills or by the sea. For the first time, you can take a boat to visit a gallery on Kāpiti Island. See how to book on page 3.

You’ll be welcomed by our talented artists and able to explore their creative spaces. Take home treasured pieces that will nourish and inspire you long after the Trail ends.

As always, the art ranges from paintings, prints, and photography, to sculpture, woodturning, jewellery, and weaving. You’ll enjoy the conventional to the quirky in many different media from oils, acrylics, and watercolour, through to ceramics, metal, fibre and textiles, glass, wood, and resin – even beeswax straight from the hive!

Many of our artists are award winners with national and international profiles; others are emerging talents or established artists showcasing their work on the Trail for the first time. We know there will be something to satisfy and inspire you along the way.

You can see works being created and talk to our artists about their processes, their inspiration, and the stories behind particular pieces.

Your Trail is an expedition to share with friends. Take your time, make a weekend of it. Enjoy everything else that the Kāpiti Coast has to offer – stunning beaches, beautiful walkways, gentle cycleways, locally-brewed craft beer and cheeky gins, thriving cafés and restaurants, boutique shopping, and vibrant creatives as far as the eye can see.

Wonder awaits…. See the full list of artists online at KapitiCoastArtTrail.co.nz
