Summer is a time to enjoy the outdoors, connect with our whānau and friends, and focus on our wellbeing as a community. A Kāpiti summer has something for everyone, with 500 hectares of parks and sports grounds, and almost 80 kilometres of recreational walkways, cycleways, and horse-riding paths for you to enjoy. We’ve also got a calendar full of events to help you make the most of our public spaces, facilities, and services. And while you’re enjoying everything Kāpiti has to offer, remember to capture the moment and enter our summer photo competition. Share your selfies, portraits, or happy snaps with us by

5pm Wednesday 14 February 2024 for a chance to win some awesome prizes.

The Aotearoa Bike Challenge is back in 2024 and it’s a great opportunity to get out and explore our big backyard. During February you could also win amazing prizes by recording your rides and encouraging others to get involved. Sign up to the challenge before Christmas to go in the draw to win a $4,999 e-bike! There are so many things that make Kāpiti a great place to live, play, and visit. All we ask is that you know where it’s ok to fish, walk your dog, horse ride, or launch your boat, and please keep our beaches free of vehicles outside permitted areas. Let’s respect our environment and each other and celebrate everything that makes Kāpiti feel like home this summer.

Visit kapitisummer.nz for more details, where you’ll also find a kids’ activity sheet and prizes up for grabs when you share your holiday snaps with us.
