Paraparaumu clinic gets new essential medical imaging scanners
Pacific Radiology Group’s Paraparaumu clinic now has MRI and CT scanning technology available.
The availability of these high-tech services is a first for the district and means the community will now have more choice, shorter wait times and better access to advanced healthcare services.
RHCNZ Medical Imaging Group chief executive Terry McLaughlin said the introduction of this advanced medical imaging technology to the Paraparaumu branch provides a huge healthcare boost for the local community.
“I am delighted that we have extended the services at our Paraparaumu — Kāpiti clinic to include MRI and CT.
“This newly renovated clinic now offers an extensive range of radiology services, as well as MRI and CT — we also offer ultrasound, X-ray, mammography and ultrasound. This increased service offering means that the community in the Greater Wellington district, particularly those who live on the Kā piti Coast, will now have access to advanced medical imaging at their doorstep.”
McLaughlin said this is the first time MRI and CT technology has been available in Kāpiti through private radiology providers, and the introduction of this technology to Pacific Radiology’s Paraparaumu clinic will potentially save the community time and money, as previously patients would have to make a round trip of up to 1.5 hours to access these imaging services.
“As well as their extensive range of medical imaging services, including MRI, CT scans, ultrasound, X-rays and mammography, this newly renovated branch also provides the community with the expertise of Pacific Radiology’s clinical staff.
“This branch features radiologists whose sub-specialities include sports imaging, women’s health, abdominal, oncology, pediatric [healthcare] and more.”
