Wedding, events expo a success
Showcasing a vibrant wedding and events industry
The Kāpiti Wedding & Events Expo, which was held at the Paraparaumu Memorial Hall on April 7, was a huge success, drawing attendees from across the country, showcasing the region’s vibrant wedding and events industry, and underscoring the growing significance of celebratory experiences in the area.
The expo had diverse exhibitors who showcased the latest trends and innovations in wedding and event planning and helped equip attendees with invaluable insights and resources to bring their visions to life, ensuring their time was well spent and productive.
There were also about 80 per cent of attendees who patronised local establishments after the expo, with an average spend of $130 per person.
“We are overjoyed by the resounding success of the expo and deeply appreciative of the strong support from both attendees and exhibitors,” said the expo’s director, Daniel Panter. “It’s truly heartwarming to see the community come together in celebration of love, creativity, and the vibrant spirit of the Kāpiti Coast, creating a sense of unity and shared purpose.”
Panter said the expo’s impact extended beyond its confines, with statistics revealing attendee motivations and economic contributions.
Most attendees (70 per cent) were planning weddings or events, and about 65 per cent of attendees booked with exhibitors, resulting in an estimated average spend of $2750 per attendee on exhibitors.
“An impressive 60.3 per cent of our attendees travelled to Kāpiti from outside the region to join us for this spectacular event. Additionally, the event’s free entry garnered unanimous appreciation, emphasising the importance of accessibility in fostering community engagement.”
The expo’s organisers are already looking ahead to future events, and Panter said they were excited by the overwhelming success and positive feedback.
“The expo’s legacy as a celebration, innovation, and community collaboration champion on the Kāpiti Coast is set to endure, promising even greater endeavours in the years to come.”
