Kapiti-Horowhenua final looms
A Horowhenua vs Kapiti club rugby final is assured in the region’s premier club rugby competition, after the teams confirmed their places and order in the semifinals over the weekend.
Levin College Old Boys finished top of the table after a 30-16 win over Foxton at Levin Domain.
The teams will replay the game at the same venue to confirm Horowhenua’s final representative.
College Old Boys enter the game as clear favourites.
Aside from a defeat to Paraparaumu and a draw with Waikanae, they have won every game.
Along with Saturday’s victory, they beat Foxton 34-8 at Easton Park in late May.
FINAL REPLAY
Paraparaumu’s outstanding lateseason form was not enough to steal top spot, finishing one point further back.
They finished with a 48-24 win over Wanderers, and will play Waikanae in the other semifinal at Paraparaumu Domain.
The game is a repeat of last year’s final, which was a hard fought, no-tries affair won by Paraparaumu 12-9.
Waikanae notched a hardfought 20-16 win over Shannon at Waikanae Park, and finished ten points behind Paraparaumu.
Paraparaumu and Waikanae have each won one of their meetings this season.
In an entertaining game which had no impact on the playoff pic- ture, Toa beat Wanderers 46-30 at

Earlier in the season Toa were deducted five points for defaulting a match, and another point due to a regulations breach.
