Capturing the essence of wood
Woodturner Glen Poultney has always had an interest in woodturning but it wasn’t until retiring to Katikati three years ago that he found the time to develop it.
Woodturning has now become his passion. Glen loves seeing the texture and grain of the wood come to life before his eyes. He says if he can capture that in a complementary design or shape, then he’s had a pretty decent day, even more so if that piece also gives pleasure to someone else.
A member of the Hauraki Woodturners’ Club, Glen is grateful for the help and tuition he’s received therewhich has given him the confidence and skill to expand his horizons.
