Choirs combine for con­cert

It’s a con­cert se­ries fea­tur­ing three choirs, 20 songs and 80 singers.

The massed choir con­cert fea­tures the Mu­ral Town singers, Te Aroha Com­mu­nity Choir, St Ge­orge’s Com­mu­nity Choir and pi­anist Jono Dun­lop, who will ac­com­pany the seven massed items.

Con­duc­tor Jeanette Hasel­lBack said all three towns’ choirs have been work­ing in­dus­tri­ously in both sep­a­rate and joint re­hearsals over a num­ber of months.

“With seven massed items of 80 voices, along with in­di­vid­ual choir per­for­mances, it prom­ises to be an ex­cit­ing af­ter­noon’s en­ter­tain­ment,” she said.

“The United Voices con­cert will fea­ture four part har­mony and a capella per­for­mances.”

Last week­end the massed choir had per­for­mances in Te Aroha and Thames with the con­cert in Katikati held this Sun­day, June 3 at St Paul’s Church on the cor­ner of Main Rd and Mul­gan St.
