Katikati Advertiser - - On The Job -

After seven years of fun, it’s time for change, say Ambria Restaurant owners Andrew and Caz Hughes, who bid the business farewell on Tuesday.

The couple had a farewell party in the restaurant on Sunday with staff, friends and some members of the Katikati Football

Club, which they have sponsored for the past seven years.

They say there have been many highlights at Ambria with weddings, milestone birthdays and Melbourne Cup Days. “We’ve had some lovely people in.”

Hiring Vernon Jensen as head chef was another, where he ended up marrying their daughter Shelle. Vernon also notched up accolades in the Beef and Lamb awards and Chef of the Year.

Andrew and Caz wish the new local owners all the best and wish to say a “big thank you” to the town for its patronage.

The Hughes plan to have a holiday and catch up on work at home before tackling their next project.

Andrew and Caz Hughes closed the door on Ambria Restaurant for the last time on Tuesday.
