Help for boat club

Katikati Advertiser - - Sports News -

Katikati Boat Club’s oldest member Bob Rawson has donated a small tractor to the club for launching their fleet of training yachts.

The club owns a 12mcontainer which will be used to store the training yachts, the rescue boat and now this little tractor, says club spokesman Don Wallis.

The club’s initial request to place the container beside the toilet block at the end of Beach Road was later withdrawn as it had become apparent there wasn’t enough room on that part of the reserve, with the growing population and increased popularity of the area.

To give the public more room the club hopes to move their activity to the foreshore on the south side of Beach Road.

Don says the club is in the process of asking Western Bay of Plenty District Council for a suitable spot to place their container there.
