Omoko­roa fire­fight­er­swere called to Pa­hoia School on Fri­day, May 25, where a young stu­dent had her leg trapped be­tween branches of a tree.

Aturfer was used to gen­tly spread the branches and re­lease the child.

In the weather re­lated con­di­tions on June 3 the Brigade at­tended three in­ci­dentswithin a short time frame: to power wires arc­ing on State High­way 2, an alarm ac­ti­va­tion in Es­daile Road and to as­sist Katikati at a flood­ing in­ci­dent.

In the early hours of last Tues­day morn­ing, fire­fight­ers re­sponded to a house fire in Bram­ley Drive. Thiswas a large in­ci­dent re­quir­ing as­sis­tance from Greer­ton and Katikati ap­pli­ances. Un­for­tu­nately there­was a fa­tal­ity. Teams were in­volved for a num­ber of hours.

First Re­spon­ders have at­tended a num­ber of calls, firstly to Beach Grove on Mon­day, May 28, to a pa­tient suf­fer­ing from chest pain. Two calls on May 30 and June 1 kept the team busy and on Tues­day, June 5 they as­sisted at the house fire in Bram­ley Drive.
