Siblings scoop the pool in squash

The Katikati Squash Club held its annual prizegivin­g and AGM at the club on Sunday, following Club Champs held in October.

This year for the first time the Junior Boys, Junior Girls, men’s and women’s Championsh­ip trophies were all awarded to brother and sister Glenn and Katie Templeton.

Glenn was also awarded the Junior Sportsmans­hip trophy.

Other results were: Men’s master Colin Chase, Women’s master Laura Young, Men’s C grade Bruce Clay, Women’s C grade Bobbette Tanner, Men’s D grade Jason Airey, Women’s D grade Kay Shaw, Men’s E grade Hayden Airey, Women’s E grade Angela Clark, Men’s F grade Jordan Mountfort, Women’s F grade Tracy Jackson, Boys under 15 Depp Bolingford, Girls under 15 Katie Templeton, Boys under 13 Hamish Tanner, Girls under 13 Jessica Taylor, Boys under 11 Blake Stevens, Girls under 11 Charlotte Tanner, Most improved man Ferry De Graaf, Most improved woman Julie Lawrence, Most improved senior junior boy Glenn Templeton, Most improved senior junior girl Katie Templeton, Most improved junior boy Depp Bolingford, Most improved junior girl Charlotte Tanner, Club Person Toni Connelly.

Toni is standing down from the Club President position after being at the helm for the past five years, and the club wanted to acknowledg­e and thank her for her tenure.

The new President elect is Craig McKay.

Dianne Connelly-Cook will continue in her position of Patron to the club.

Dave Shoosmith was awarded a Life Membership to the club last month to acknowledg­e his many years of commitment to squash and service to the club.
