Friends collaborate for exhibition
A diverse and interesting range of art is being exhibited in Katikati during November featuring works from five talented artists.
Unlimited Palette — Robyn Betterton, Trish Coates, Berys Daly, Pamela Lines and Sally Thrush — are friends from Waihi Beach and Waihi who create art in diverse ways using watercolour, printmaking, collage, mixed media, calligraphy and acrylics. The group meets regularly to share ideas over coffee and work collaboratively.
Sally said, “We often come up with a ‘challenge’ which pushes us out of our comfort zone and provides some very interesting results.”
Pamela delights in painting with watercolour — her work is both scenic and abstract — while Trish loves to paint people. Berys works in mixed media producing thought-provoking art that pushes the boundaries, while Robyn prefers to paint on boards, stones and whatever else she can find to create her quirky art. Sally, a printmaker, likes to experiment with non-toxic methods of printmaking, she also paints in acrylics.
The artists work is shown at Waihi Beach in the church hall at the Village and they enter local exhibitions and others further afield.
“We enjoy opportunities to take our art to the people.”
Unlimited Palette exhibition, until November 30 at Harry Maddox Jewellery store in Main St, Katikati.
