Bike and shoe thefts

A red Honda quad bike was stolen from a paddock on upper Hot Springs Road on Monday between 9.30am and 12.30pm. Police Sergeant Steve Hindmarsh said the offenders would have needed a trailer or truck to transport the quad bike. “We are interested in hearing from anybody that may have seen a quad bike being taken from Hot Springs Road at these times.”

And in between last Friday and Monday a woman’s Vision Sport mountain bike with a light purple frame was stolen from the bike rack at Katikati College. Early Tuesday afternoon a pair of Nike shoes and jandals were stolen from the deck of an address in Hansen Place.

CCTV catches burglar

A 29-year-old Katikati woman was arrested for burglary of a Hansen Place address. The offender was easily identified by police as the home owner supplied CCTV footage of the burglary from cameras fitted to the exterior of the house.

Man caught for thefts

Police arrested a 35-year-old Athenree man on Saturday i for shopliftin­g, two petrol drive-offs and for breaching bail conditions. He has been further remanded on bail by the court.

Work breached

On Tuesday a 25-year-old Katikati man was arrested on a warrant to arrest for breaching community work. He was held in custody overnight.
