Bike and shoe thefts

A red Honda quad bike was stolen from a pad­dock on up­per Hot Springs Road on Mon­day be­tween 9.30am and 12.30pm. Po­lice Sergeant Steve Hind­marsh said the of­fend­ers would have needed a trailer or truck to trans­port the quad bike. “We are in­ter­ested in hear­ing from any­body that may have seen a quad bike be­ing taken from Hot Springs Road at these times.”

And in be­tween last Fri­day and Mon­day a woman’s Vi­sion Sport moun­tain bike with a light pur­ple frame was stolen from the bike rack at Katikati Col­lege. Early Tues­day af­ter­noon a pair of Nike shoes and jan­dals were stolen from the deck of an ad­dress in Hansen Place.

CCTV catches bur­glar

A 29-year-old Katikati woman was ar­rested for bur­glary of a Hansen Place ad­dress. The of­fender was eas­ily iden­ti­fied by po­lice as the home owner sup­plied CCTV footage of the bur­glary from cam­eras fit­ted to the ex­te­rior of the house.

Man caught for thefts

Po­lice ar­rested a 35-year-old Athen­ree man on Satur­day i for shoplift­ing, two petrol drive-offs and for breach­ing bail con­di­tions. He has been fur­ther re­manded on bail by the court.

Work breached

On Tues­day a 25-year-old Katikati man was ar­rested on a war­rant to ar­rest for breach­ing com­mu­nity work. He was held in cus­tody overnight.
