FIRE REPORT

Katikati Volunteer Fire Brigade was called to a tractor fire in Rea Rd last Thursday.

However, on arrival there was only a permitted fire with the tractor being used to keep control of the fire.

On Sunday late morning the brigade responded to a scrub fire off Irwin Court — on part of the walkway. The fire was quickly extinguished.

Then mid afternoon Sunday the brigade attended a scrub fire on Pine Ridge Lane.

A small rubbish fire had spread into long grass and was threatening shelter belts. Both trucks plus the brigade’s water tanker attended.

Omokoroa Fire Brigade was called to assist along with the Greerton brigade’s water tanker. With Omokoroa’s assistance Katikati managed to get the fire under control and Greerton’s water tanker was stood down.
