Sun shines on first market
A sunny, relaxed setting greeted visitors to Katikati’s first Xmas Makers Market at the Uretara Domain on Friday where about 30 stallholders provided an array of hand-made items and gifts.
Organiser Nicky Austin from Katch Katikati said, “It was a fabulous afternoon weatherwise — perfect for an afternoon market.
“All the stalls looked amazing.”
She said there was a great crowd between 4pm and 5.30pm but then it petered out a bit which was a shame.
“Although there were some folk who stayed to enjoy the sunshine and the wonderful live music provided by buskers, including the incredibly talented Callum Cross, a local lad who has been away for a year or two.
“All in all I think it was a success with it being the first one. We’ve had lots of requests for it to become a monthly feature and we are considering some options.”
