Katikati Volunteer Fire Brigade had no reports of flooding after weekend rain and Monday’s deluge.

In the early hours of Tuesday they were called to an alarm activation at Seeka packhouse.

On Sunday evening the brigade attended a fire in a skip bin at Katikati College that had been deliberate­ly lit. The fire was quickly extinguish­ed.

Last Thursday at midday the brigade attended to a person trapped under a rideon mower on Busby Road. The person had been trapped for two to three hours. The ride-on mower was removed off the person and St John Ambulance staff transporte­d the person to hospital.

Late morning last Tuesday the brigade responded to a motor vehicle accident on SH2 at the Plummers Point intersecti­on. One person was trapped and had to be cut free from the vehicle. Both O¯ mokoroa and Tauranga Fire Brigades attended.
