Gifts flow in for tree appeal

-

Katikati once again showed its generous spirit by providing hundreds of gifts, food and money to help families less fortunate this Christmas.

The Advertiser’s Community Christmas Gift Appeal, run in association with the Katikati Christian Helpline, was well supported by all and a big thanks to everyone who donated a wonderful range of quality gifts from games, toy trucks, cars, a fire truck, toiletries, towels, photo frames, jewellery, puzzles, clothing, Roomerangs, a Talk ‘n Learn Creativity desk and chair and much more.

Bradley Scott with dad Patrick delivered a couple of bags of new games and toys for children.

The pair had been shopping for balls, racquets, games, “all things that kids would like”.

Last time they shopped for the gift appeal they just bought for boys but this time they shopped for girls and boys.

“I like to be able to give to kids who can’t have a Christmas — a Christmas,” Bradley said.

Sheila Robins came in with granddaughter Chloe, 5, who was happy to place gifts under the tree.

Once again the Lions Club of Katikati members delivered a great range of gifts for the appeal.

The gift appeal closed on Monday.

All gifts and food donated have been collected ready to be sorted and put into hampers and delivered to families.
