Arty Tarts get creative and fresh

-

Going into lockdown has been tough for local businesses. Like all retail businesses the world as we knew it ceased to exist on March 24, said comanager of Arty Tarts craft store, Carol Mason.

“Because most of our members are over 70, we were forced to close sooner than some.”

She said the store’s turnover has been pretty much zero, but luckily some of their loyal customers contacted them for contactless purchases after we moved to alert level three.

“We are really grateful to these people.”

Carol said they are also extremely grateful that their landlord who gave them a very generous discount on their rent.

On a positive note, because they are such crafty Arty Tarts, the talented members who make the items have kept busy being creative during lockdown. This means the shop will look fresh with some amazing new goodies when they can reopen.

“With life being less busy

we have been able to experiment and play, so come and check us out.”

Carol said with level 2 happening this week they will reopen. However, because some of their members are still vulnerable, they will operate under shorter hours initially, from 10am until 2pm.

To celebrate their reopening, Arty Tarts craft shop will have a 20 per cent sale on their Lothlorian possum and merino range. This is perfect timing as the weather has turned cooler in recent days, Carol said.

Shoppers requiring anything outside of their normal open hours can phone and they will try to satisfy your needs. They are happy to post or do a contactless delivery in the Katikati area.

“Thank you for your support.”
