Katikati ambulance crews responded to 23 calls last week, 21 in the Katikati operational area, one in Bethlehem and one in Tauranga.

Thirteen patients were transported to hospital, seven were treated at home, two were referred to other agencies, and on one occasion the ambulance was not required.

The eight trauma calls included one motor vehicle accident.

Omokoroa First Response Unit had two callouts, Tauranga ambulance crews attended 13 calls in the Katikati area, and an Intensive Care Paramedic assisted a Katikati crew for one seriously ill patient.
