Thirty members took part in June 17 Club Night at the new time of 7pm. Winners were Wayne Gamble, Andrew McClean, Carol Freeman and Stewart Couper. Runners-up, Neal Mikkelsen, Neil Cruden, Chris Sherriff and Allan Perry. Championsh­ip triples will be played on June 24.

The haggle was Hidden Pairs — combining the stableford points of both a Div 1 and a Div 2 player drawn at random. Veterans — Waihi hosted a field of 101 players on June 15 for Waikato Veterans’ Day, with players coming from Te Aroha, Paeroa, Raglan, Gulf Harbour, Whangamata, Hauraki, Ngaruawahi­a, Riverside, Cambridge, Ngahinepou­ri, Pirongia, Morrinsvil­le, Walton, and Waihi. Competitio­n for the day was stableford, played in conjunctio­n with the Coromandel

Shield. In the Waihi zone are, Te Aroha, Paeroa, Hauraki, Thames, Whangamata and Waihi, and during the season each club hosts a round of the Coromandel Shield on their designated Waikato Vets day.
