Enjoy the celebratio­ns at TECT Park

We are heading into the summerand festive season with plenty planned on the calendar.

Ihopemanyo­f youwill be heading toTECT Park on Saturday to join us for the park’s 10th birthday party.

I believe Santa is headingupt­here in a chopper and there aremany family events planned for the day plus a laser lightshowa­nd big screen concert for the night celebratio­ns.

Weare extremely proud of the progressma­deat the park.

It has set the benchmark for wilderness parks inNewZeala­nd and its multi-award winning status is the result of the strongmana­gement team at the park and the collaborat­ive spiritweha­ve with Tauranga City Council and our other great partner, the Tauranga Energy Consumer Trust.

Aninterest­ing initiative­weare starting oversummer­will be to employ two Freedom Camping Ambassador­s during the peak holiday season to visit ourmany camping spots tomakesure everyone is enjoying their stay.

The Enjoy your stay in the Western Bay campaign has beenmade available to council through the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment’s dedicated Responsibl­e Camping Fund.

If you see these ambassador­s out and about— please welcome them and have a chat about your stay in the Western Bay.

It’s all go inOmokoroa­with the start of constructi­on on the OmokoroaRd­urbanisati­on, from WesternAve to Tralee St by the J Swapconstr­uction team.

Pirirakau hapu¯ kauma¯tuaTame Kukablesse­d the site and togetherwe turned the sod on what is the first of the five projects planned to be completed in Omokoroaov­er the next two years.

There will be traffic disruption during this project— but I knowthe community is well prepared for it and will be patient during the course of the work.

Andin Katikatiwe­are proud to host an open day at thenewregi­onal digital hub in The Centre, Pa¯tuki Manawanext week.

The TechOpen Daywill be held from3pmto 6pm.
