Christmas tree lights turn on festive season

Waihi Beach is getting into the festive spirit and will lightupthe village Christmas tree next Friday, December 4. Children and adults alike will enjoy all the Christmas joy being spread with carols being sung by the United Church singers and Santa and his elf greeting everyone. Akapa haka group will be there to perform to add to the evening and popcorn and a sausage sizzle will be available.

Comedresse­d in a festive outfit with prizes upfor grabs for the best dressed.

The lights of the fabulous 5metre high tree will be turned on by a local child at 9pm.

“The whole village loves the

Christmas lighting festival as it marks that time of yearweall love and brings us to together to celebrate,” says Nicky Austin, events coordinato­r for Waihi Beach Events and Promotions.

“Wewelcome all visitors to join us for this joyous fun night too!”
