Meet Your Community a success
Waihi Beach’s Meet YourCommunity event on Sunday, November15was a positive, successful event for the local area.
Over 40non-profit, volunteer organisationswere represented at the Waihi BeachCommunityCentre providing information tonewand existing beach residents about what they do andhowthey can get involved in the community.
Local services— Mayor View Fire Brigade, Waihi Beach Surf Life Saving Club, LandSARand RedCross were also on site with their vehicles and equipment, giving visitors the opportunity to explore and find out more. The event also offered the chance for someorganisations to touch base with each other and keep upto date with their services.
“This event is great for our local area,” says event co-ordinator Nicky Austin from Waihi Beach Events and Promotions. “It brings people together and reminds us of the wonderful people and organisations that support andmakeour community so unique.”
