30 compete in inter-school athletics
a little nervous but theycameto grasp thegamewell and the improvements over the two days wasenormous. Kirsten College even congratulated the boys for the good games they put upagainst a full team of representative players. The rallies the boys had with this team led theminto the Bronze MedalGameagainst an Edgecumbeteam of all Year 10 boys. Adetermined Katikati team took the gameto thembut after a great battle wentdown2-4. Thiswasa great outcome for the boys and though a medal would have been nice, the amountof confidence and growth in the sport can only be good for next year in Waitakere.
The boys individual rankings after this tournament were impressive too. Taurian 8th, Hamish 14th, Lucas 24th andQuentin 25th. Abig thanks to the parent supportwhowere probably the loudest cheerleaders and the laughterwascontagious, and to Ian McConnochie for the managing and coaching of this team.

Missingsomeof their top Year 8s whohad a clash of events, the team did very well competing in all aspects and having a great day supporting their team mates. Ben Montford had a great result at high jumpequalling theBOPzone record of 1.55m and gaining a personal best and four of their throwers gaining places, with the girls Akanete Aisake and Anthea Bowdenwinning an event each.
