Wind brings thrills and spills for yachties

In the Micron class, race 1waswon by Ben Tanner followed by Nana Matsubara in second and Hamish

Carr third. Race 2’s finishing order wasBen Tanner again in first, then Hamish Carr and Nana Matsubara.

The Optimists’ race waswonby Miles Jonson, withTimWiebes coming in second.

The trailer sailer classwaswonby Keith Pyle after a close tussle with DonWallis, followedhomeby Stephen Wallis.

Most trailer sailers had their main sails reefed, here Ash Smith and David Vickers hang on tightly as they tack towards the windward mark.

Capsizes were a common sight amongst the junior fleets. The young sailors showed true grit in the conditions.
