Trio referred to Youth Aid over burglary

Two boys were seen running from a Uretara Dr property on Sunday . An iPhone was later discovered missing. Police have since interviewe­d three youths and they have been referred to the Youth Aid section. We are also trying to locate the owner of a collection of polished stones which the youths were in possession of.

At about 8pm on Saturday two men were observed walking up the driveway of a Rea Rd address carrying a crowbar. They did not have shirts on and the shirts were possibly tied around their faces.

They may have been spooked by a Police patrol car in the area on another matter. The men left in a blue Subaru vehicle. If anyone has noted this vehicle’s registrati­on can you please give us a call. Theft

Between 10am and 10.20am last Thursday (January 20) a vehicle parked at a Wright Rd orchard was entered and several thousand dollars was stolen. The money was in a black satchel. There were a number of workers on the orchard at this time. If anyone has informatio­n about this please contact the Katikati Police.

Arrests and apprehensi­ons

A 38-year-old Omokoroa man was arrested and charged with assaulting another man with a weapon, and threatenin­g behaviour after an incident at an Omokoroa address last Friday (January 21). He next appears in the Tauranga District Court today.

Police attended an incident at an Omokoroa address on the evening of January 19. As a result a 19-year-old Omokoroa woman has been charged with two counts of threatenin­g behaviour and wilful damage. She appeared in the Tauranga District Court on Monday.

Found property

A gold ring was found at St Peter’s Anglican Church and an iPad in a green case was found in Katikati. If these items belong to you, call into the Katikati Police Station.
