You’ll reap plenty of rewards from this top quality 7.3142ha property, located in one of the best growing kiwifruit areas in the entire Bay of Plenty, at Paengaroa.

Enjoying a low altitude site of just 43m above sea level, this property is in prime G3 Gold country, considered capable of heavy, early-start Sungold G3 crops The orchard has a total of 5ca/ha of kiwifruit made up of 1.93 ha Sungold G3 and 3.07 ha Hayward Green, including 0.97ca/ha of Bruno-grafted Hayward 2020. The G3 area consists of some first and second crop areas, with production still rising and yet to reach its peak.

With past G3 production figures up to 17,861 trays per hectare and TZG 0.73, and Hayward up to 16,000 trays per ha and TZG 0.79, there is opportunity to further improve production.

The property is being marketed by Brett Ashworth of Property Brokers, who says the orchard enjoys excellent access with ample load-out area and has natural shelter.

“This is a young G3 orchard with early start ability providing a real bonus,” he says. “It is still yet to hit its peak and provides a great opportunity for new owners to fully convert to G3.” Brett says the property is located in what has proven over many years to be a highly reliable kiwifruit-growing climate and the soils are well suited to horticulture, being made up of welldrained volcanic ash and sandy loam. Infrastructure includes an as new 18m by 12m implement shed and a second older implement shed.

An excellent water supply has been established from a new bore on the property. It was set up in 2019 with submersible pump to two 30,000 litre tanks which have yet to be connected.

There’s also a second supply via legal easement from a neighbouring property. Complementing the orchard is a 245sqm brick home built by GJ Gardiner, with expansive rural views from a large sunny deck out to Motiti Island.

Features of this well-designed home include three bedrooms plus an office. The bathroom is tiled with both shower and bath and there is potential to add an additional shower. A huge threeand-ahalf car garage with electric door and is fully double glazed and insulated. A wood fire keeps the home warm and cosy in winter and there is a heat transfer system as well as gas califont hot water supply. A small older cottage provides useful extra accommodation. The property is located less than 3kms from popular Paengaroa village and school and the Farmlands Te Puke store is less than 14kms away.
