“We often get asked whether we do renovations or homes of various price brackets and scale, so when we entered the house of the year competition this year we wanted to showcase - that yip we sure do!” says Mike from Belco Homes, “We hadn't even realised that our spread of entries meant we'd hit the three possible Supreme Award categories, then on to the night to be awarded all three was just outstanding! Our whole team is buzzing!”

And that's not all, Belco Homes went on to receive a total of 11 awards on the night.

Five awards went to their entry in Bethlehem , the Supreme House of the Year Over $1 million award, Resene New Home $2 million - $4 million category, Pink Batts Craftsmanship Award, the Kitchen Excellence Award, and a Gold Award. A home that seamlessly blends tradition and innovation. The judges were captivated by the remarkable use of the locally sourced Hinuera stone, skilfully paired with ironbark hardwood lintels and expressive structural timbers – resulting in a visually stunning architectural marvel. The impeccable craftsmanship showcased throughout this expansive residence left a lasting impression on the judges. Every detail has been meticulously considered, resulting in a dwelling that exemplifies elegance and sophistication. This achievement is a testament to the visionary talent and the unwavering commitment to excellence displayed by Belco Homes.

A new build in Omokoroa won the Supreme Award for Under $1m, the Altus Windows Systems New Home $750,000-$1 million category and a Gold Award.

“Belco Homes has skilfully integrated elements such as a lofty ceiling height in strategic areas, thoughtful and interesting materials and finishes, and an inviting private outdoor shower,” said the judges. “From the moment you enter, this home exudes attentive design. Every corner of this compact site has been utilised to its fullest potential, delivering a comfortable living experience for its fortunate owners.”

Finally, a Waihi Beach renovation scooped The Supreme Renovation of the Year award, together with the Renovation Over $1.5 million category and a Gold Award.

The judges were truly impressed by the exceptional precision and attention to detail demonstrated throughout the renovation process. A remarkable entry that not only met but surpassed the high expectations and challenges set by the client. With its flawless execution and undeniable beauty, this entry unquestionably deserves the esteemed title of the Supreme Renovation Award winner.

“We treat every build as if it were our own, and communication is key” Mike goes on to say, “It's like a marriage, a really tight knit team of owner, builder and all the parties involved, working toward the common goal of getting it just right for our Owners. Throughout every step of the process our focus is on making sure our clients vision is being met and their lifestyle needs are accommodated”. “Creating this something special is why we get out of bed every day.”
