Burglaries

Between December 2 to January 8 commercial premises and a shipping container on O¯ mokoroa Rd were broken into and a number of tools and office equipment were taken.

Theft

January 9 — Fishing rods, jacket, backpack and wallet stolen from a vehicle parked at Kauri Point wharf area. PayWave card subsequent­ly used. Inquiries continuing.

January 4 — Fishing rod and tackle box left outside a campervan at Tuapiro Point were stolen.

Unlawfully taken motor vehicles

January 8 — Green 2004

Toyota Hilux stolen from the side of Wainui South Rd.

Between January 9-11 — A Komatsu 1.8 tonne digger coloured yellow and a karaka green tandem trailer were stolen from an orchard near Claymark. On Wednesday, the digger was found abandoned in Athenree bush.

Arrests apprehensi­ons

January 9 — A 24-year-old Minden man was arrested for allegedly stealing a quantity of cash from a reception area in Minden.

A 37-year-old Katikati man has been charged with burglary and being unlawfully in an enclosed yard which relates to the same property in Rea Rd in December. A vehicle allegedly stolen from the property has been recovered.

A 30-year-old Katikati man of no fixed abode has been charged with two counts of burglary in relation to alleged break-ins at Dave Hume Pool on December 21 and 31.
