EVENTS The Small Print Exhibition:

Small prints by multiple artist at Carlton Gallery at The Arts Junction, Katikati until February 4. Katikati Twilight Concerts 2024: Woodstock to the 70s is on February 10 at Haiku Reserve. Concerts start at 6pm.

Wander Dogs Walks Series: February 3 at Te Puna Quarry Park for a guided walk. 9.30am for question and answer, 10am for walk. March 2 at Anzac Bay in Waihi Beach. Katikati A&P Show: Town meets country, with many displays and entertainment, 60 trade stalls. Its 99th show at Uretara Domain on February 4.

North Island Surf Boats: Best of the North Island surf lifesaving clubs compete in boat races. February 3-4 at Waih¯ı Beach in front of the club.

Waitangi Day Flag

Ceremony: Katikati commemoration of Waitangi Day. February 6 at 6.30am at the Western Bay Museum forecourt. Whina movie screens at 9am and Boy at 12pm at The Arts Junction, free.

Abbeyfield Garden Party Fundraiser: In a garden setting on Hot Springs Rd, Katikati. Cakes, canapes, tea/ coffee, drinks, and entertainment plus market stalls and raffles. February 17 from 2-5pm, tickets The Arts Junction.

Frocks on Bikes: Meet at the Talisman Hotel carpark on February 24 at 10am. Free registration. Spot prizes. Family friendly.

Grow On Katikati Edible Backyard Safari: Involves a journey of destinations and mini-workshops included. Grow On Shed, next to Katikati Community Centre, February 25 from¯9am-1pm. Doggy Day Out: Omokoroa Sportsground for a costume party on March 16 from

10am-2pm. The day includes dog education, stalls, music and competitions.

Adult Easter Hunt: Solve the clues to local gift vouchers around Waih¯ı Beach. March 31.

Katikati A&P Show returns this weekend after cancellations in recent years due to Covid-19 and bad weather conditions. There’s plenty on offer at the 99th show including rides, wood chopping demonstrations, equestrian events, animals, music, trade sites, dancing and cultural events. An area will be dedicated to horticulture this year. The home industries competition categories will be on in the hall. ■ Katikati A&P Show at Uretara Domain on February 4 from 9am-4pm, $5 for adults and children under age 12 free.
