RUGBY

Bay of Plenty Rugby

BOP Rugby love getting out into the community and connecting to its clubs and schools.

On March 26, BOP Rugby undertook one of a series of community engagement days at Katikati Rugby Club, Moore Park. “We had a great turnout of young rugby players,” says BOPR partnerships manager Neil Alton. “We only just had enough sausages to feed everyone with 90 boys and girls coming down for some coaching, fun and prizes.”

The aim of the community days are three fold, one — have fun, two — players and coaches learn some new skills and drills and three — connect as a community over a barbecue.

There was also plenty of spot prizes and everyone went away with a gift including four top trainers who were selected from the age groups.
