How to grow beans

-

1 Choose a sunny patch of welldrained garden soil or fill a large container with growing mix. 2 Add a climbing frame for climbing beans. 3 Bean seeds won’t grow in cold wet soil. Wait until the soil is at least 16˚C, night and day. Sow your seed about twice as deep as the seed is long. The soil should be moist when you sow your seeds but wait until the seeds have germinated before you water again. 4 After the seedlings have emerged, add some organic mulch (such as pea straw) to keep the roots cool and moist during hot weather. 5 Once the plants are growing strongly, give them a good soaking once a week.
