HOW TO PROPAGATE

Select stems about 10cm long. Make a cut just below a leaf node (the area on a stem where the leaf joins it) and trim off the bottom two pairs of leaves.

Dip each cutting into a rooting hormone (this is not essential) and gently insert into a soil-based potting mix or compost. you can make a hole in the soil with a stick or tent peg beforehand so as not to damage the delicate cells on the cut surface.

Pot up the young plants in the spring, removing the growing tip to create a more bushy plant. Most new hebe plants normally flower in the first year, but I have noticed that some take a while to get establishe­d.
