In anticipation for what’s to come, we asked what bulbs you had planted this season and here’s what we learnt.

Tulips, hyacinths and trilliums, so far. I left the irises, daffs and freesias in their beds last year... but will lift them when they’ve finished showing off! – Susan Hempseed

Crocuses, hyacinths, daffodils, jonquils, irises, anemones all planted in autumn, lilies planted in June. Don’t need to plant freesias as the oldfashioned ones self-seed, I love them! – Jan Harris

Irises and freesias, they do well in my Auckland garden without much help. Also some tulips which I had in the fridge for a while, trying to trick them into performing. – Fleur Elizabeth
