TOILET PAPER SEEDER

-

Another good way to plant out tiny seeds in your garden is to lay a piece of two-ply, eco-friendly toilet paper into a pre-prepared channel in your garden (not on a windy day) then shake the seeds along the centre of the paper. Because the toilet paper is light in colour, you can see how evenly you have sprinkled the seed and you can then spread them out with tweezers. Cover the tiny seeds with a little soil, spray lightly with water and mound up the soil on either side to help secure the paper. As the seeds grow roots, they will secure themselves in the soil and any remaining paper pieces will self-compost.

You can also make a white flour paste from water and flour and dab small amounts along a piece of eco-friendly toilet paper that you have placed in a shallow channel in the garden. Simply pop a seed onto each blob. Place another piece of toilet paper over the top, sprinkle with a light layer of soil and give it all a light water.
