Rhododendrons & camellias

Most will have finished flowering by now. Prune to shape and reduce the size of larger plants. Both can cope with a heavy prune by up to 50 per cent, which sounds like a lot but they bounce back just fine. Fertilise with acidic plant fertiliser at the same time. Add a layer of mulch to protect the roots from getting scorched in the heat of summer.
