QUICK TIPS FOR LEAVING YOUR GREENHOUSE OVER SUMMER

-

• Pick all ripe fruit before you leave.

• Ensure plants are well tied up and supported, to encourage air flow.

• Leave vents open to avoid humidity building up.

• Leave doors and windows open, but cover openings with netting to prevent the crop being devoured by birds.

• Mulch the greenhouse bed and pots to lock in moisture.

• In hot regions, cover the northfacing side of the greenhouse with shade cloth to cut back on heat.

• Remind your holiday plant caretaker to water at the base of the plants, not from above (to prevent fungal growth romping through the greenhouse unchecked while you are away).
