Toilet paper had so much media coverage during the Covid-19 lockdowns, but I feel it’s time to give the humble cardboard centre of the toilet roll some kudos. Toilet rolls are easy to throw away or burn, but I’ve discovered these little ecofriendly holders make great seedling pots. Cut the rolls into two equal halves and place one over a new seedling to prevent slugs and snails from chomping on fragile young leaves, too.
