SEEING IS BELIEVING
We suggest you buy fruit trees from a supplier or garden centre near to where you live. That way you can go back and talk to the seller, in person, about any concerns. Most good tree suppliers are happy to help you pick the best trees for your environment and they will provide advice on how to look after them and espalier or fan them.
If anyone is thinking of espaliering fruit trees this winter, remember some fruit trees are better ‘fanned’ than ‘espaliered’ and it’s better to use younger, more supple trees that can be easily tied to the wires and trained to grow along them. More mature trees are often too hard and too big to train.
